Cassette Interviews Information

PLAYER INTERVIEWS IN RACQUETBALL DURING 1991-1993

While working at the AARA National Office in Colorado Springs, Barb St. Onge interviewed twenty people back during the 1991-1993 time frame. She conducted these interviews over the phone and recorded them on cassettes. Barb conducted these interviews in support of the AARA 25th Anniversary to collect some history about the sport from people who participated in various roles and possessed knowledge and experience in the history of the sport’s history.


Jim Easterling received the cassettes and digitized them on a flash drive to preserve the interviews that might otherwise be lost on the cassettes. His efforts to preserve the interviews on a flash drive ensured the historical insights and memories of these people.


While digitizing the cassettes, there were many pauses during the interviews of varying lengths from one to five minutes and sometimes times longer. Pauses of six minutes or longer were removed.


The following is a detailed of the interviews including the individual interviewed, interview date and length of the interview:

The insights and perspectives of these twenty individuals involved in the sport in different capacities at the time facilitate a deeper understanding of the history of racquetball.
